HOW IT ALL STARTED…
In 2020, ThinkBig Networks partnered with the QAC Commissioners to strategically use the federal CARES Act funds made available during the COVID-19 pandemic, to bring expansion of fiber optic internet services to Queen Anne’s County. This lead to the approval of broadband expansion to unserved areas in District 1.
In 2021, ThinkBig Networks partnered with Queen Anne’s County and the State of Maryland on three Neighborhood Connect grants; portions of Route 300 in Sudlersville, Duhamel Corner Road and High Bridge Road.
In 2023, the Queen Anne’s County Commissioners approved funding to be used for a Long Driveway Grant program, which will be utilized by ThinkBig Networks for their eligible customers.
Subsequent neighborhoods to be constructed will be based, in part, on community interest.
